WHO WE ARE
Since 2009, CRB has served approximately 500 South King County residents annually, by providing programing to engage the whole family, from pre-Kindergarten to adulthood. Our communities are immigrant and refugee families from the diverse, multi-ethnic communities of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Angola, El Salvador and Mexico. 100% of our clients are English language learners; their native languages include Spanish, Arabic, Dari/Farsi, Somali, Burmese, Amharic, French, Lingala, Kinyarwanda and others.
The communities we target are low-income, traditionally underserved, and come from regions where they have had limited access to educational opportunities. They identify as black, African, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, and North African. The contextual barriers facing these newcomer communities are interconnected and varied; these systemic challenges, which often reinforce one another, limit their ability to access the resources and knowledge needed to live healthy, safe and productive lives in this country.
